If art makes life beautiful, sustainable and rich, why do we hesitate to pay for it?

Surya Kiran Foundation hosted an engaging and thought-provoking panel discussion, “Who Should Pay for Arts?”, bringing together distinguished voices to explore the value, economics and future of the arts.

The conversation raised important questions about who sustains artists, who bears the responsibility of supporting creativity, culture and imagination, and whether art can truly thrive when society celebrates its value but hesitates to invest in it.

Moderated by Padma Shri awardee Prof. Bharat Gupt, the discussion featured an esteemed panel of Padma Shri Shovana Narayan, Jaya Prabha Menon, Ashish Dhar and Prof. Rajnish Mishra.

The event encouraged meaningful dialogue on the relationship between art, society and financial support, inviting audiences to rethink what it truly means to value creativity.
